Social Media Strategy & Tactics for Maker Faire Orlando.
Edit me

Social Media is a fantastic tool for marketing Maker Faire, but it requires a great strategy and lots of execution time.

Social Media Sites

We have sooo many social media accounts, it can be hard to keep up. In addition to the MFO accounts below, we also have MakerFX accounts, TMEF accounts, BrightBikes accounts and more.

Facebook

Our Facebook page is at makerfaireorlando. As of July 2022, we have 6,859 people that like the page and 7,379 people that follow the page.

We also have the robotruckus facebook page that is used to marketing MFO through the Robot Ruckus event.

  • Each year we create a Maker Faire Orlando event to drive event responses and then ticket sales. Events responses are key because once someone responds to an event (interested or going), any posts by the organizer leads to a Facebook notification for that post (best reach without using Ads)
  • We similarly create a Robot Ruckus event for the same purpose
  • We post regular calls to action for CFM and Ticket sales
  • We post maker profiles as they are accepted, ideally several per week.
  • We run $5k+ in ads each year on the fb platform to drive event responses and ticket sales

Twitter

Our twitter username is orlmakerfaire. As of July 2022, we have 1,574 followers.

  • We don’t use twitter enough. It tends to lag behind Facebook, and is often neglected.

Instagram

Our instagram username is makerfaireorlando. As of July 2022, we have 2,111 followers.

  • We don’t use Instagram enough, It tends to lag behind Facebook, or get used with cross-posting.

TikTok

At this time, we do not have a Maker Faire Orlando TikTok.

LinkedIn

We have a Company page for Maker Faire Orlando, and a LinkedIn Maker Faire Orlando group

LinkedIn is rarely used, and could be a driver for sponsorship if we’d stay on it…
